unc0ver Releases a New Jailbreak For Most iPhones

iPhones are known for their robust security features. To achieve that level for security, Apple put in a lot of restrictions in place. It only supports customization and apps that are approved by the Apple developers team. While it is good to have security, but that comes with the price. It limits what you can do on your iPhone. For years hackers have been trying to infiltrate that restrictions or “jail” as they like to call it by exploiting many different vulnerabilities of iOS. The term “jailbreak” has come from the act of breaking free from the “jail” that has been put in place by Apple. By jailbreaking an iPhone, you can perform some additional customizations and functions that were impossible with a non-jailbreak phone.

Jailbreaking is not as easy as it used to be. Apple is getting stricter and more responsive at pushing new fixes every time a new jailbreak exploit emerges. This crackdown, however, never demotivated hackers to come up with new jailbreaking tools and exploits. This time also a new jailbreak has emerged. This new jailbreak has been released by a hacker team that goes by the name “unc0ver.”

This new unc0ver jailbreak works on iPhones and iPads running iOS 11 and above. Interestingly, this exploit also works for the newly launched iOS 13.5. This is probably the first time in years we are seeing a jailbreak tool for the latest version of iOS.

It is still unclear what vulnerability hackers used in this jailbreak. On May 21st, the unc0ver team had tweeted that they will be releasing unc0ver 5.0.0 using a 0day kernel vulnerability. We are still waiting for more information from them.

But what we do know is that this hack or exploit if you will have been sponsored by Phone Rebel from EverythingApplePro.

Like most other jailbreaks, we doubt it will last that long. Apple has always been swift at pushing updates to fix the loophole that causes the jailbreak. Don’t get surprised if you see Apple releasing new updates in the next few weeks.

Installing jailbreak is very easy and straightforward. You just need the latest jailbreak exploit and tolls like Cydia or AltStore. You can easily find guides on YouTube.

Jailbreaking may sound fun, but remember it is not safe. Jailbroken iPhone loses on many security functions from Apple and thus making it vulnerable to many different hacks. If you know what Jailbreak is, and you understand the risk of it, then you can Jailbreak an iPhone – at your own risk. And if you don’t know much about the risk it brings, then just stay away from Jailbreaking.

Jailbreaking is like rooting for Android users. But the fact that Apple makes it some much harder to Jailbreak, every time there is a new exploit, it attracts so much media attention.

Do you own an iPhone? Would you jailbreak your iPhone? Please let me know your answer and why in the comment section.
